A great video:
- Movements require an outlier that is willing to stand out from the crowd
- The outlier must embrace and nurture the first few followers, making it about the movement versus his/her leadership
- First followers are most important, since they transform the outlier from a ‘lone nut’ to a leader–they provide legitimacy
- Be public and easy to follow–movements won’t get off the ground unless they are publicized with low barriers to entry
