The four requirements for creating a movement

A great video:

  1. Movements require an outlier that is willing to stand out from the crowd
  2. The outlier must embrace and nurture the first few followers, making it about the movement versus his/her leadership
  3. First followers are most important, since they transform the outlier from a ‘lone nut’ to a leader–they provide legitimacy
  4. Be public and easy to follow–movements won’t get off the ground unless they are publicized with low barriers to entry
